Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s security architecture to address the country’s growing security challenges.

Governor Mohammed made the call during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde, over the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The Bauchi governor, who was accompanied by top officials of the APM, including the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, said the delegation came to sympathize with Governor Makinde and the people of Oyo State over the unfortunate incident.

He noted that the prolonged ordeal of the abducted pupils and teachers has generated concern across the country, expressing confidence in Governor Makinde’s determination to secure their release.

Governor Mohammed pledged the support of the government and people of Bauchi State towards efforts aimed at ensuring the safe return of the victims.

Speaking on the country’s security situation, the governor stressed the need for greater synergy among security agencies and increased community participation in combating crime.

He said community engagement initiatives in Bauchi State have helped improve security awareness and urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid collaborating with criminal elements.

According to him, poor governance and economic hardship have contributed to rising criminal activities, adding that citizens must take responsibility for the future of the country by electing credible leaders.

Governor Mohammed also congratulated Governor Makinde on his emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the APM, describing him as an energetic and visionary leader capable of providing quality leadership and good governance for Nigeria.

He urged Nigerians to take their destiny into their own hands during future elections by making informed choices that would promote peace, security and national development.
