Lagos 2027: APM Picks Laja Adeoye as Governorship Candidate
…As Adeoye pledges to tackle insecurity, flooding and unemployment
The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Lagos State has affirmed Mr. Laja Adeoye as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.
Speaking after the party’s primaries and consensus affirmation held at the ECWA Multipurpose Hall, Yaba, Lagos, Adeoye expressed gratitude to party delegates and leaders for the confidence reposed in him.

He described his emergence as a mandate to provide purposeful leadership and rescue Lagos State from what he termed years of poor governance under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Adeoye also congratulated other successful candidates of the party for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats, urging all aspirants to remain united in the interest of the party and the people of Lagos State.

The APM governorship candidate commended party leaders, members of the alliance, and supporters for their commitment despite what he described as political and legal obstacles.
He specifically acknowledged the support of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and the national leadership of the party for their roles in strengthening the APM.

Adeoye said the party was determined to offer Lagosians an alternative platform focused on accountability, transparency and people-oriented governance.
He accused the APC-led administration in Lagos of failing to address major challenges confronting residents, including unemployment, poverty, flooding, inadequate healthcare, poor infrastructure and insecurity.
According to him, his administration, if elected in 2027, would implement a development agenda tagged “Àtunto Èkó 1.0: Re-Engineering Lagos for Inclusive Prosperity.”
The governorship candidate said the blueprint would focus on economic growth, job creation, affordable housing, quality education, improved healthcare, enhanced security, infrastructure renewal and inclusive governance.
Adeoye promised to create policies that would attract investment, support small businesses, expand transportation systems, improve electricity supply and tackle flooding across the state.
On security, he pledged support for community policing and the establishment of Amotekun in Lagos State to strengthen safety of lives and property.
He also promised to prioritise youth empowerment, social welfare and equitable development across all parts of the state.
Adeoye called on party members and Lagos residents to support the APM ahead of the 2027 governorship election, saying the party was prepared to deliver a new direction for the state.
