Support continues to grow for the House of Assembly ambition of Lamidi Rukayat Balogun, as party leaders and grassroots stakeholders across Akinyele Constituency I have called for her emergence as the constituency’s representative in 2027.

Several ward leaders and supporters, speaking in Onidundun, described Balogun as a committed grassroots politician with longstanding ties to the constituency.

A ward leader, Fisoye Olatunde, said Balogun is “a daughter of the land” who has remained consistent in her political journey over the years.

He traced her political involvement back to the era of former Oyo State governor Kolapo Ishola, noting that she has continued to build experience and loyalty within the party structure.

Olatunde appealed to party leaders at the state level to give her the opportunity to represent the constituency, adding that she has gained the necessary experience to serve effectively.

He also recalled that during the 2023 elections, Governor Seyi Makinde had reportedly urged her to step down, with expectations that she would be considered for the 2027 race.

Another ward leader, Tiamiyu Musibau, urged party members and residents of the constituency to rally behind Balogun, emphasizing the need for unity in achieving political success.

Similarly, a stakeholder from Ward 1, Ejire Osuolale, expressed confidence in her leadership ability, describing her as capable of delivering meaningful development projects.

In her remarks on her aspirations for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Lamidi Rukayat Tolani Balogun, who declared her intention to represent Akinyele Constituency I, calling for increased women participation in politics ahead of the 2027 elections.

Balogun who hails from Ward 4, Onidundun, in Akinyele Local Government Area, noting that the growing support from grassroots mobilsers and women in the area reflects a collective desire for inclusive representation in the state assembly.

Balogun emphasized that her aspiration represents not just a personal ambition but a broader push for gender inclusion in governance.

The aspirant assured constituents that if elected, she would deliver effective and inclusive representation, ensuring that development opportunities reach all parts of the constituency.

“I will represent everyone well, women, youths, and the entire people of Akinyele Constituency I,” she said.

Balogun also promised to attract projects and opportunities that would improve the socio-economic well-being of residents.

Supporters maintained that Balogun’s emergence would bring tangible dividends of democracy to the constituency, especially in areas that have previously lacked adequate government presence.

They expressed optimism that her representation would not only elevate the profile of Akinyele Constituency I but also improve access to development initiatives and infrastructure.
