…As Stationery distributed, prizes awarded
The Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Tamunumini Makinde, has urged students to take their education seriously, describing them as being strategically prepared as the future of the state.

Mrs. Makinde gave the charge during the presentation of stationery to students at the Oyo@50 celebration held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady described education as the most valuable legacy parents and government can offer children, noting that educated students are better positioned to uplift their families, communities, and contribute meaningfully to the development of Oyo State.

She explained that although students are frequently referred to as the future, the Oyo State Government is deliberately investing in their education as a core component of its long-term development strategy.

Mrs. Makinde urged the students to make effective use of the stationery provided, remain committed to their studies, and continue to develop their intellectual capacity, stressing that education empowers individuals to speak confidently, serve responsibly, and participate actively in governance and community development.

She further reminded the students that education remains critical to the future growth and prosperity of Oyo State.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of prize gifts to students who excelled in the Spelling Bee and dancing competitions, alongside the distribution of stationery materials to students in attendance as part of activities marking the Oyo@50 celebration.
