Oyo Christian Journalists Mourn Ace Broadcaster’s Demise


…As association”s Chairman, Shobowale pens emotional tribute

The Chairman, Nigeria Association of Christian Journalists, (NACJ), Oyo State, Lekan Shobo Shobowale has joined friends, families and colleagues to mourn the sudden passage of popular Ibadan based broadcaster, Kola Oladapo popularly called “Mr Nice Guy” on Sunday.

In a release by the association’s spokesperson, Adeola Badru made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday expressed shock to the passage.

Shobowale, according to the release, wrote an emotional message describing Kola as humble, calm, and friendly.

“Kola, if indeed you are truly gone, life truly has no meaning. We were together a few days ago discussing issues as regards partnering with political stakeholders in Oyo State on your programme.

“But this morning, I got the bad news that you are no more. While I was also still trying to recover a loss that really hurt me, I got your the news of your passage.

“My dear friend, I thank God for your life, your simplicity, humility, and your “I Can Do” spirit. Your ability to forgive friends when they wronged you, not minding the level of the offence.

“I salute your uniqueness, open-mindedness, quality, and expertise displayed all through your years in broadcasting.

“Thanks for being a good friend, I will forever cherish those defining memories.

Goodnight, Mr Nice Guy…”
