Adelabu Empowers Oyo APC Members with ₦100 Million Economic Relief Fund

…As Minister of Power mobilizes party members for 2027 comeback, calls for unity and empowerment across the state

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has disbursed ₦100 million as an economic relief fund to empower youths, women, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

The initiative, carried out through his Bayo Adelabu Foundation (BAF), is aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots base and supporting members facing economic challenges.

Speaking during the event, Adelabu, who was the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State in 2019, reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the state and to the welfare of APC members.

He assured party faithful that greater empowerment initiatives would follow when the APC regains control of the Oyo State Government in 2027.

“Oyo belongs to the progressives; we are the landlords. The PDP is only a tenant in Agodi Government House, and we are returning there in 2027,” Adelabu declared.

The Minister also called for unity among APC members at the ward, local government, and state levels, stressing that internal cohesion is crucial to the party’s success in the next general elections.

Delivering a lecture at the event, Dr. Stephen Lafenwa of the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan, commended the initiative, noting that political parties that invest in youths, women, and leaders are more likely to earn public trust and electoral victory.

“No party can win public confidence without empowering its members. The APC in Oyo State has demonstrated a strong commitment to the welfare of its people,” Lafenwa stated, urging beneficiaries to use the empowerment funds prudently to alleviate their hardships.

Earlier in his remarks, the chairman Oyo APC, Pharmacist Olayide Abas, represented by the Secretary of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, praised Adelabu for his consistent support, saying his efforts have revitalized the party in the state.

“Chief Adelabu has shown true leadership. His gestures have brought new life to Oyo APC and restored hope among our members,” Olanite said.

The empowerment program marks another milestone in Adelabu’s efforts to strengthen the APC’s political structure in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
