APM Holds Interfaith Prayer Session in Ibadan South East Ahead of Campaign Kickoff

Ahead of the official kickoff of campaign activities, the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Ibadan South East Local Government Area organized a strategic interfaith prayer session yesterday at the historic Mapo Hall premises in Ibadan.

The prayer session was organized to seek divine protection for party members and supporters against violence and bloodshed, as well as to pray for electoral victory across all levels and post-election benefits for the members who labour for the party.

Spiritual leadership drawn from across major faiths including the representatives of the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere who joined the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and traditional religion worshippers in Ibadan South East local government to offer fervent prayers for the party and its candidates ahead of the polls.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Campaign Council and Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Alawode Emmanuel Oluwole, expressed deep gratitude to the religious leaders for their steadfast support. He explained that the initiative was designed to commit the candidates, party members, and campaign operations to God.

In their goodwill messages, the leader of the party, Prince Dare Adeleke and Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige commended the party supporters for their steadfast and commitment, urging them to embark on aggressive campaign for the election victories of Governor Seyi Makinde as the President, Hon. Bimbo Adekammbi as the governor, Hon. Sikirullahi Olajide Odidiomo as Senator for Oyo South, as well as re-election of Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East federal constituency, Hon. Modiu Akande Alabamusa and Hon. Abdulwasiu Yinka Omikunle for the Ibadan South East Constituency 1 and 2 and Hon. Abimbola Saheed Owonifaari as the chairman of Ibadan South East local government respectively.

While responding on behalf of all the candidates, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin appreciated the religious leaders and the party for the initiative, promising that they will not let them down by fulfilling all the promises made before and during the electioneering campaign for the electorates.

The interfaith session was well attended by prominent political figures and stakeholders, including party leader Prince Dare Adeleke, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Hon. Temitope Yusuf, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji, and Comrade Olajide Ezekiel Oluwole. Also present were APM ward chairmen, candidates, religious leaders, and a large crowd of party faithful and supporters.
