PDP Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Address Questions on Educational History

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest Zonal Ex-Officio, Prince Ambassador (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address public concerns regarding his primary and secondary school educational records, saying transparency is essential to sustaining public confidence in leadership.
In a statement, Ewenla argued that elected public officials should be prepared to clarify questions relating to the educational credentials presented in pursuit of public office. According to him, primary and secondary school certificates form the foundation of all subsequent academic qualifications and should be accounted for without ambiguity where necessary.
The PDP chieftain maintained that if unresolved concerns about the President’s educational records persist, Nigerians have the right to seek clarification on how he qualified for the country’s highest office and why he is seeking another term.
He said those seeking re-election should be ready to defend both their qualifications and their performance in office.
Ewenla stressed that while citizens are free to support President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), political loyalty should not override the principles of truth, accountability, and the public interest.
He urged Nigerians to assess government performance objectively, irrespective of political affiliation.
Ewenla also expressed concern over the country’s economic situation, citing rising food prices, inflation, unemployment, insecurity, declining purchasing power, poor infrastructure, and the high cost of living as major challenges confronting Nigerians.
He called on the government to focus on practical solutions to address the hardship facing citizens.
The PDP stalwart added that constructive criticism and public scrutiny are vital components of democracy, insisting that governments should respond to legitimate concerns with transparency and facts.
He concluded that history would judge every administration by its commitment to accountability, democratic values, and its ability to improve the lives of the people.
