PDP Chieftain Urges Members to Remain Loyal, Reject Support for APC Ahead of 2027

…As Ewenla Calls for unity and discipline, says backing APC undermines the opposition party

A South-West Ex-Officio of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, has called on members of the party to remain steadfast and demonstrate total loyalty, commitment, and dedication to the PDP ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement, Ewenla said the unity, progress and success of the PDP should always take precedence over personal interests or political ambitions.

He warned party members against associating with groups he described as “PDP APC” or “PDP APC Extension,” alleging that such alliances undermine the party’s collective interest.

The PDP chieftain expressed concern over what he described as the growing trend of individuals who identify as PDP members while openly supporting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election. According to him, such actions are inconsistent with the principles and values of the opposition party.

Ewenla maintained that any PDP member campaigning for or supporting the APC’s presidential candidate has demonstrated a lack of genuine commitment to the PDP.

He argued that party loyalty should extend to all duly nominated candidates of the PDP, including those contesting for the presidency, National Assembly and other elective positions across the country.

He expressed confidence that the PDP would overcome its current challenges, just as it had done in the past, urging members to remain united, disciplined and committed to rebuilding the party.

Ewenla reaffirmed his belief that the PDP would emerge stronger ahead of future elections, stressing that unity and unwavering loyalty remain essential to the party’s success.
