Zone XI Police Command Introduces SP Ojedele as New Public Relations Officer
The Nigeria Police Force, Zone XI Command, Osogbo, has announced the appointment of SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji as its new Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a move aimed at strengthening public engagement and enhancing communication between the Command and stakeholders.
The appointment was announced by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone XI Command, who expressed confidence in the officer’s ability to advance the image and vision of the Nigeria Police Force while promoting stronger public trust and confidence in policing activities across the Zone.
SP Ojedele, an indigene of Oluponna in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State, brings to the role a blend of operational experience, academic excellence and professional expertise accumulated over years of service within the Force.
An accomplished scholar, he graduated with an Upper Credit in Statistics and also holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2014 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has since served in various capacities across Zone XI Command, Osun State Command and Ondo State Command, where he earned recognition for professionalism, dedication and effective service delivery.
Widely regarded as an experienced intelligence officer with strong communication and public engagement skills, SP Ojedele possesses extensive experience in intelligence-led policing, crime prevention and strategic public relations management.
Throughout his career, he has participated in several specialised professional trainings designed to enhance operational effectiveness and policing standards. Among these is Crime Scene Management and forensic course facilitated by the German Development Corporation (GIZ). He also received advanced training at the Central Planning and Technical Unit (CPTU), Police Staff College, Jos, as well as the Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, where he successfully completed combat and tactical programmes.
His expertise and competence have also earned him appointments to high-level responsibilities, including serving as a member of the Board of Examiners for Rank and File Promotion Courses and the Board for the Recruitment of Police Constables on several occasions, where he contributed significantly to strengthening professional standards within the Force.
Described by colleagues and superiors as an officer distinguished by integrity, diligence and an unwavering commitment to duty, SP Ojedele is expected to play a key role in deepening collaboration between the Police, the media and members of the public.
The Zone XI Command appealed to media practitioners, stakeholders and residents within the Zone to extend their support and cooperation to the new spokesperson as part of the collective effort to improve public safety and strengthen security across the region.
