The Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has called on Nigerians to uphold the values of democracy and contribute meaningfully to national development.
In a Democracy Day message, Engr. Olatunji said democracy can only thrive when leaders serve with integrity and citizens participate responsibly in the affairs of their communities and the nation.
The council chairman noted that collective commitment to democratic principles remains essential for building a stronger, more united, and prosperous society where every voice is heard and every community experiences progress.
He also prayed for divine guidance for the nation and its leaders, asking God to strengthen democratic institutions and grant public office holders the wisdom, courage, and compassion needed to serve the people faithfully.
Engr. Olatunji further expressed hope for sustained peace, unity, and development across Oluyole Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.
He urged citizens to remain committed to efforts aimed at promoting greater opportunities, prosperity, and hope for all Nigerians.
The Oluyole Local Government Chairman also felicitated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day and wished them a peaceful celebration.
