AFCON 2021: Paderborn left-back joins Super Eagles in final training session pre-Egypt
By Ogundele Olanrewaju
The SC Paderborn fullback, Jamilu Collins has ended speculation about his availability for the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations National Daily news report.
The left-back became the twenty-seventh player to report for international duty after linking up with his teammates in Garoua on Monday evening.
The players were already at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium and Collins came in as they were training.
Assessing Collins’ chances of being given a run-out against Egypt, it would take a miracle for him to be involved as he is lacking match fitness having not played for his German club since November 28, 2021.
Interim coach Augustine Eguavoen allowed the local and foreign journalists to witness the first fifteen minutes of this evening’s training session before the media was thrown out.
The Super Eagles were playing to the gallery during the time the media was present but had an important tactical session afterwards.
Nigeria will lock horns with seven-time African champions Egypt on January 11, starting from 1700 hours
