VIRAL VIDEO: LAGOS CP CONDEMS EXTORTION, ORDERS ARREST OF OFFICERS

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has condemned the act of some police officers who engaged in extorting money from the Citizen in the state and has ordered immediate arrest of the officers and detained to serve as deterrent to others who engage in such dastardly act.

This was released in a Press statement signed by by the state Police Public relation officer,CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, which was made known to newsmen in quick reaction to a video which going viral on social media exposing some police officers in Maroko police division extorting money from a citizen.

CSP Ajisebutu noted that the Commissioner was disappointed by the unprofessional conduct of the officers as seen in the Captured/revealed in the video, and has ordered immediate arrest of the affected officers.

“Peeved by the unprofessional conduct of the officers as captured/revealed in the video, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, directed that the erring police officers should be identified and arrested immediately.

He further said that affected officers are currently facing disciplinary actions.

“In compliance with the directive, therefore, all the four police officers have been arrested and detained. They are cuŕrently facing disciplinary actions.

The State Police command vow to deal decisively with any police officer found acting in such or other unprofessional manner in the command
