Oba Ladoja Commends Tinubu, Makinde, Security Operatives Over Release of Oriire Kidnap Victims

…Calls for tighter security around communities bordering the National Park and psychosocial support for victims.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has commended President Bola Tinubu, security agencies and local hunters for their roles in securing the release of kidnapped victims from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The victims, numbering 47, were abducted from Yawota and Ahoro Esinele communities in Oriire Local Government Area and regained their freedom on Friday following coordinated security efforts.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Adeola Oloko, the monarch described the rescue operation as a significant achievement that demonstrates the commitment of the Federal Government to safeguarding lives and property across the country.

Oba Ladoja noted that the successful rescue further underscores the seriousness with which the current administration is addressing security challenges, stressing that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity.

The monarch, however, called on the government to sustain the momentum by ensuring adequate security in communities bordering the Old Oyo National Park, which have remained vulnerable to attacks by criminal elements.

He also urged the authorities to provide proper rehabilitation and psychosocial support for the rescued victims, considering the trauma and psychological stress they endured during their period in captivity.

Oba Ladoja further appreciated Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for standing by the victims and their families throughout the period of uncertainty and anxiety.

The Olubadan equally praised the security operatives, including personnel under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies, for their dedication and collaborative efforts that culminated in the successful rescue operation.
