Oyo PTS Launches Digital Health Delivery System for Drivers, Staff

In line with Governor ‘Seyi Makinde’s resolve to revitalise the health sector in Oyo State, the Executive Chairman of Pacesetter Transport Service, PTS, Hon. Dare Adelele has launched O’health platform for staff of the company to complement the effort of the state government in the sector.

Performing the launching on Tuesday, Hon. Adelele noted that O’Health is a platform where one could easily access their health wherever they are in the world and can also get consultation all over the world through their mobile phones.

He stated: “When I came in here years ago, His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde appointed me as executive chairman of this noble company.”

“This place was like a dumpsite, now the clinic centre, it was like a dumpsite where they put their junks.”

“So, I renovated it after the renovation I make sure that I put up a something like a clinical equipment in this structure.”

“I thank God today, the structure has a clinic for the staff of this company as a free of charge for the past three years now.”

“And I look at how can I extend it to have a wider consultation and that is why I think it into O’Health.”

“O’Health is a platform where one could easily access their health wherever they are in the world and can also get consultation all over the world.”

“I look at it that the only thing that I can do is that I tell the company to bring out their money to do all this that will not be costly.”

*This is a place where you know that they deal with transportation and how much do they earn?”

“The transportation that you paid N100 or will I have dig into the company account?”

“I now decided to take it as my pet project that it will be a legacy that I have to leave for this company even if I leave here, so that I will still support them after this year.”

“What am trying to do is to support humanity to have a healthy lifestyle while they are on duty.”

“I will surely support the company, I will put of for money from my own wallet to O’Health and to ensure the efficiency of the clinic even when I left.”

In his remark, the Commissioner for health Bode Ladipo represent by Director of research and statistics, Dr. Gbolahan Abass, acknowledged the good initiative of the company, noting the state ministry of health will take a cue from the company to replicate same in the health ministry.

He pointed out that more than 200 health care centers have been renovated, adding that there are lots of flagship hospitals of which some were equipped.

“Am happy we are having this initiative in the pacesetter-state, I think Oyo state pacesetter transport service has beaten Ministry of health to it.”

“Because ordinarily this initiative should start from the ministry of health because if you look at Oyo state now, His Excellency the governor has increased the physical space of health in Oyo State.”

“More than 200 health care center has been renovated and we have a lot of flagship hospital some are equip and with this SPED we know that, we need to connect ourselves together.”

“And the only way we can do it is through the digital system in which people from Okeho that cannot have access to the good equipment like the Ring-road hospital, LAUTECH teaching hospital or Saki hospital is just go through the platform and get doctor.”

“Even if you have those facilities, if you look at the health ecosystem, however I just think that the population now is ten million and the distance from Ibadan, the capital of the state to somewhere like Kishi which is about 4 to 6 hours, so if people there could have access to E-health not that they don’t have facility there but we have some special needs that they could interact with.”

“I want to appreciate Oyo state pacesetter transport service for starting this before ministry of health.”

Earlier in his address, the Executive Chairman Oyo state Road Transport Management Authority, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, who is the chairman of the launching, described the feat as a noble one for the great government under His Excellency Engineer Oluwaseyi makinde and this great company been headed by a very versatile forward looking chairman Hon. Dare Adeleke, you can see the concine of the staff.

“O’Health is critical is important at this time, drivers has got a lot of issues with their health and there is a need for it to be taken care of and this management to see that they are forward looking in ensuring that they take care of them.”

“Now we have O’Health which also know as telemedicine, all over the world you can see during the pandemic, you do consultation online through your phone, through your WhatsApp whatever you are making use of and you can also do anything without seeing the doctor physically and this is coming to Oyo state.”

“Which is first of it kind here in the government,so we are proud to have this initiative and we are proud to our brother, Hon. Dare Adeleke to have this initiative coming from him.”

“I want to advise the drivers to work hard because health is wealth and seeing that such a great leader the chairman of the Pace-setter transport service company has decided to for the first six months he has gone ahead to pay and to ensure that their health are secured.”

“So the driver should make sure they give back by being more committed and been more diligent to their duty and they should take their health very seriously because this day we seen a lot of issues especially with high-blood pressure (Hypertension) so with this initiative we are happy that their health and concern are taken care of and we are happy for the state.”

While speaking, Executive chairman Oyo state Primary health care board, Hon. Dada Awoleye, lauded the initiative, describing it problem solver for personnel.

“Most of the time people want to good health care most especially at the primary health care level and they are always wary of meeting with the doctor or a nurses to speak with.”

“Through this O’Health a Telemedicine system patient can always get a consultant or a professional to speak to and complain of whatever health challenge they have so that the person can attend to them do a lot by telling them what to do.”

“It is a kind of easy access to medical care, so this initiative is providing it, plugging the whole of heart of professionals that one may face when you get to hospital or public health care.”

“The initiative will go along way solving health challenge of personnel,” he added.
