Adelabu promises over 66,000 jobs if elected as Governor

…..As Makinde Folarin Absent at Ibadan Chamber of Commerce and Industry governorship Debate

The incumbent and gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his All Progressives Congress ( APC) counterpart, Senator Teslim Folarin, have shunned the Ibadan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) gubernatorial debate in Oyo State.

The debate was held at the Function Hall of Jogor Event Centre, Ring Road in Ibadan, the state capital, was organised the ICCI to allow the candidates to sell their manifesto to the people of Oyo State .

Governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Chief Bayo Adelabu, who was one of the candidates present, promised at least 66000 jobs within four years if given the opportunity to serve as the Chief Executive of the State.

Chief Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, said that 2000 jobs would be created in each of the 33 local governments in the state under his administration

According to him, the jobs would come from emoployment of sanitary inspectors, traffic officers, road maintenance workers teachers. Amongst others

He said those key areas need special attention in the state as the current administration has not been able to provide the needed solutions to the issues of growing traffic congestion, bad roads, poor environmental sanitation and so on.

The Ibadan born politician also vowed to improve the industrial sector by creating industrial hubs and tackling the problem of insufficient power supply to encourage more investments into the state.

Chief Adelabu also harped on keying into the huge agricultural potential of the state in boosting its internally generated revenue and further empowering the people with more jobs and business opportunities.
