Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland, another proof posterity will be kind to Makinde – Olatunji
The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has described the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland on Governor Seyi Makinde as another evidence that posterity will be kind to the governor.
Olatunji said the honour bestowed on Makinde by the traditional institution of Ibarapaland was a recognition of his contributions to the development of Oyo State and his commitment to the growth and wellbeing of the people.
The Oluyole council boss stated this while congratulating Governor Makinde on his installation as the Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland on Sunday.
He said the title was not merely a traditional honour but a reflection of the confidence and goodwill that the governor’s administration had earned across different parts of the state.
According to him, Makinde’s administration has continued to demonstrate that leadership is best measured by its impact on the lives of the people, adding that the governor’s developmental strides would remain reference points long after his tenure.
Olatunji noted that the Aare Asoludero title, which symbolises a defender of the people with a messianic symbolism, was particularly fitting for Makinde given his administration’s emphasis on infrastructure, economic development, security, education, healthcare and grassroots development.
He said: “The conferment of the Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland title on our governor is another proof that posterity will be kind to Governor Seyi Makinde.
“Beyond the glamour of the ceremony, this is an honour that carries a deeper meaning. It is a testament to the fact that the people are watching, appreciating and documenting the contributions of the governor to the development of Oyo State.
“Governor Makinde has demonstrated that leadership is about service and putting the people first. The roads, infrastructure, economic initiatives, agricultural interventions and other programmes of his administration will continue to speak for him.”
The council chairman further commended the people and traditional rulers of Ibarapaland for recognising Makinde’s contributions with the prestigious title.
He described the governor’s relationship with traditional institutions across the state as one built on mutual respect, consultation and partnership, saying such collaboration was essential to sustainable development.
Olatunji also congratulated the First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, on her conferment as Yeye Asoludero of Ibarapaland, describing it as a fitting recognition of her support for her husband and her contributions to humanitarian and social development initiatives.
He prayed for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the governor and his wife, urging the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration’s development agenda.
The installation ceremony was held at the newly commissioned palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa and had in attendance traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, religious leaders and other dignitaries from across the state.
Olatunji said the ceremony would remain a significant moment in the history of Ibarapaland, adding that the honour further demonstrated the growing acceptance of Makinde’s leadership beyond political boundaries.
