‎Veteran journalist and former Press Secretary to successive Oyo State governors, Oloye Lekan Alabi, is dead.

‎He passed away on Saturday morning in Lagos at the age of 76.

‎His death was announced in a statement issued by the Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Adeola Oloko.

‎According to family sources, the late journalist will be buried on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites.

‎Alabi, who was the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, was widely regarded as one of Oyo State’s most respected media professionals and public communicators, having served in various capacities during a distinguished career in journalism and public service.

‎He was also a prominent figure in the traditional institution, where he held the prestigious title of Abese Olubadan in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.
