Funsho Williams 20th Rememberance: PDP Chieftain Urges Stakeholders to Set Aside Differences, Rebuild the Party

…Says preserving the late politicians vision requires unity and collective action across the party

South-West Zonal Ex-Officio of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Ambassador Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, has called on members of the party to use the 20th remembrance of the late Lagos politician, Engineer Funsho Akinsola Williams, as an opportunity to foster reconciliation and strengthen unity within the party.

In a statement marking the anniversary, Ewenla described the late Funsho Williams as an accomplished engineer, visionary administrator and committed democrat whose contributions to public service, infrastructure development and good governance left a lasting impact on Lagos State and Nigeria.

He noted that Williams, who was assassinated on July 27, 2006 while preparing to contest the 2007 Lagos State governorship election on the platform of the PDP, remained a symbol of selfless service, integrity and dedication to the welfare of the people.

The PDP chieftain extended condolences to the Williams family, party members, political associates and Nigerians, praying for the continued repose of the late politician and other departed party leaders.

Ewenla urged PDP leaders, elders, youths, women and stakeholders across the country to honour Funsho Williams’ legacy by putting aside differences and working together to reposition the party.

According to him, the greatest tribute to the late politician and other founding members of the PDP is to preserve their vision through unity, discipline and collective efforts aimed at restoring the party’s electoral strength, particularly in Lagos State.

He stressed that the remembrance should serve not only as a reflection on the life and sacrifices of Funsho Williams but also as a renewed commitment to justice, equity, good governance and service to the people.
