Democracy Day: Dr. Fagbemi Tasks Nigerians on Participation in Democratic Process

The Allied People’s Movement, APM, candidate for Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, has called on Nigerians to remain committed to democratic values and active participation in the nation’s democratic process.

In a Democracy Day message, Dr. Fagbemi described June 12 as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey and a reminder of the sacrifices made by patriots who fought for freedom, justice, and democratic governance.

He noted that the occasion provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation’s progress and renew their commitment to good governance, accountability, equity, and the rule of law.

Dr. Fagbemi commended the resilience and patriotism of Nigerians, particularly residents of Ibadan Southwest and Ibadan Northwest, for their contributions to community development despite prevailing economic and social challenges.

The APM candidate urged citizens to remain actively engaged in the democratic process, stressing that democracy can only thrive when the people participate, hold leaders accountable, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

While acknowledging challenges such as economic hardship, unemployment, insecurity, and infrastructural deficits, Dr. Fagbemi expressed optimism that Nigeria can overcome its difficulties through visionary leadership, responsible governance, and collective commitment.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented representation, transparent leadership, and policies aimed at improving the welfare and quality of life of constituents.

Dr. Fagbemi called on Nigerians to renew their faith in the country and work together towards building a more peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.

He further prayed for continued peace, progress, and development in Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole as the country marks Democracy Day.
