…As Oluyole LG Chairman Confirms Release of All Victims

Combined security teams have secured the release of the remaining two Cocoa farmers who were kidnapped during a visit to the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, (CRIN) in Ibadan on Saturday.

Our Correspondent reports the Police were able to secure the release of the two out of the four victims as well the arrest of the three suspected kidnappers in connection with the incident barely 24 hours after.

Also, it was gathered that the kidnappers made a demand of N100m ransom before their release.

However, the Chairman of the Oluyole local government, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent disclosed that all the victims have been released.

He added that their release was made possible through the concerted efforts of the combined team of the Police, the Directorate of State Services, Western Security Network code named Amotekun and Oluyole local vigilante.

He stated that the rescue tean has handed over the victims to the police

Olatunji added that the team was coordinated by the Security Adviser to the Oyo state governor, CP Fatai Owoseni rtd.

The Local government boss thanked the team for their concerted efforts as well assure the residents of the area of gis willingness to always collaborate with the relevant security agencies.
