CP Fatai Owoseni (rtd) To Be Turbaned As Alatunse-Ilu Adini Of Oyo State
Retired Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni, and the Special Adviser on Security to Oyo State Governor, is set to be turbaned as the Alatunse-Ilu Adini of Oyo State, a prestigious Islamic title conferred in recognition of his exemplary service to humanity, commitment to moral values and contributions to the Muslim community.
The turbaning ceremony will be performed by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, the Grand Imam of Oyo State, alongside the League of Imams and Alfas and the entire Muslim Ummah of Oyo State.
According to the details of the programme, the religious ceremony, which is expected to commence 10:00 a.m, would take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’Oba, Ibadan.
A reception in honour of CP Owoseni will follow at Agodi Garden, Ibadan, from 1:00pm, where family members, religious leaders, security stakeholders and well-wishers are expected to gather to celebrate the distinguished former police chief.
CP Owoseni, who served the Nigeria Police Force with distinction, is widely respected for his discipline, leadership and dedication to peace and security.
His turbaning as Alatunse-Ilu Adini is seen as a recognition of his lifelong commitment to integrity, service and the promotion of unity within society.
The event is expected to attract prominent personalities including the Inspector General of Police and others from the religious, political and security sectors, further underscoring the significance of the honour bestowed on the retired Police Commissioner.
