Oyo NUJ Directs Disbandment of All 2025 Election Teams, Platforms

…Says union remains one indivisible family

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has directed the immediate disbandment of all teams, groups, and platforms formed for the purpose of the 2025 Council election.

This directive follows the successful conduct and conclusion of the election, which, according to the union, has fulfilled the purpose for which the various campaign and support groups were established.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Mr. Temidayo Adu, the leadership emphasized that the NUJ remains one indivisible family united by shared values, common objectives, and a collective commitment to the growth and progress of the union.

The statement stressed that all election-related platforms and groups should be dissolved with immediate effect, while members are encouraged to disengage from such platforms and embrace unity, cooperation, and mutual respect.

The leadership further called on members to put the election behind them and work harmoniously for the overall interest of the NUJ, Oyo State Council.

According to the statement, the strength of the union lies in its unity, noting that the task of moving the council forward requires the support and active participation of all members.
