The Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, has commended radiographers across the state for their vital contributions to healthcare delivery as the world marks World Radiography Day.

In a statement issued today, Dr. Fagbemi described radiographers as “unsung heroes” whose expertise in medical imaging and radiation therapy plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and overall care of patients.

“As we celebrate the art and science of radiography, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated radiographers and staff of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board,” he said.

“Your tireless efforts behind the scenes are instrumental in providing quality healthcare services to our patients.”

Dr. Fagbemi urged radiographers to remain diligent and committed to excellence, noting that their professionalism forms the backbone of an effective healthcare system.

“Your professionalism and commitment to excellence are the foundation on which our healthcare system is built,” he added. “I am proud of the work you do, and I am confident that together, we will continue to provide high-quality healthcare services to the people of Oyo State.”

World Radiography Day is celebrated annually on November 8 to mark the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895 and to recognize the essential role of radiographers and radiologic technologists in modern medicine.
