PDP Southwest Leaders Reaffirm Loyalty, Reject Coalition Rumors

…As Post-crisis reconciliation in full swing as PDP Southwest realigns for 2027

The leaders of People’s Democratic party, Southwest Zone has reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and restated their commitment to unity and progress within the zone and the national level.

The decision was taken through a communique issued at the end of crucial meeting of Southwest Caucus leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held at the Olusoji Adagunodo Zonal Secretariat in Ibadan.

The Caucus leaders distanced itself from reports of a political coalition, stating that it was not part of any such arrangement.

The leaders however, supported the National Working Committee’s position that the PDP remains open to working well-meaning, like-minded Nigerians committed to National rescue efforts.

Addressing local concerns, the Caucus leaders demanded the immediate release of withheld local government allocations belonging to Osun state, calling the Federal Government’s action unconstitutional and detrimental to the welfare of Osun state residents.

While echoing Governor Seyi Makinde’s recent remarks, the body stated that the 2027 elections will be a referendum between Nigerians and the APC, with the PDP positioned as the people’s choice.

The meeting which was held following the crisis that ensued at the preparation of the 2023 election which led to some leaders in the party decamping.
