Ibadan Court Delivers Verdict on OYRTMA Officers’ Assault As Suspects Ordered to Pay ₦100, 000 Surety Each

… As Adesagba condemns attack, warns violators

A Magistrate Court has given a judgement that seven suspects who assaulted two OYRTMA officers must provide a ₦100,000 surety each.

The assault occurred while the OYRTMA officers were enforcing traffic regulations at Water Corporation Gate, along Old-Ife Road, Ibadan.

The case has been adjourned until November 17, 2024, and the suspects will remain at Agodi Correctional Center pending the next hearing.

while reacting to the incident, The Executive Chairman of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, (OYRTMA) Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd), condemned the attack, emphasized that OYRTMA will not be deterred from performing its duties

He warned violators of traffic laws to desist from disobeying and assaulting its officers while on their civic responsibility or face the wrath of the law.

Major Adesagba Adekoya has consistently stressed the importance of respecting OYRTMA officers, who work tirelessly to maintain road safety and orderliness.
