FG debunks poor, slow execution of Opo Malu Road Rehabilitation in Saki
The Federation Government, through the Federal Ministry of Works, has debunked, what it termed as
mis-information by a certain organisation known as ‘Budgit Tracka’ that the rehabilitation of the Opo Malu Road in Saki area of Oyo State was poorly executed.
It added that the contractor that handled the rehabilitation of the road completed the work on schedule and submitted her certificate which was dully processed.
A statement made available to journalists by the Federal Controller of Works
Oyo State, Engr. Kayode Ibrahim, noted that ‘Budgit Tracka’ did not make any contact with the office of the Federal Controller of Works Oyo State, before going to press with the damaging publication.
The statement read further: “It has come to the notice of the office of the Federal Controller of Works Oyo State, the erroneous and grossly misleading information by a certain organization known as ‘Budgit Tracka’ about the Federal Government intervention project in Saki Oyo State.”
“The project titled “Limited Rehabilitation of Opo Malu Road in Saki Oyo State” was awarded 31st
January, 2022 to Messrs Laralek Ultimate Limited with the Engineer’s order to commence work dated
1st March, 2022 and the completion period of three months.”
“The then Honourable member of the National assembly representing the constituency in question, who facilitated the award of the contract led the team of Federal Government officials and the
contractor to the location in company of the community leaders.”
“The location of the project, which the Honourable member refers to as Opo Malu area, traverses eleven communities beginning from Opo Malu junction through Orogun road to Isale Adini in Saki.”
“It is pertinent to note that prior to the Federal Government intervention, the road has been completely impassable and the communities down the road cut off from the major road in Saki.”
“The Contractor completed the Limited Rehabilitation works on schedule and submitted her certificate which was dully processed.”
“The general public and the good people of saki should be informed that the leadership of the eleven communities through which the rehabilitated road traverses has written a letter of confirmation of the
satisfactory execution of the project to the Federal Controller of Works Oyo State.”
“The office of the Federal Controller of Works Oyo State has, however, sent a detailed dated photographs of section of the works in progress and completed works with the GPS coordinates to “Budgit Tracka” for confirmation.”
“With this information, the office of the Federal Controller of Works Oyo State, confirms that the contract titled: “Limited Rehabilitation of Opo Malu Road in Saki Oyo State” awarded to Messrs Laralek ultimate limited was executed as awarded and any information to the contrary should be disregarded,” the statement said.
