…As PDP Chieftain urges members to shun personal interests, strengthen party ahead of 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest Ex-officio, Dr. Adedipe Ewenla, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a more united, peaceful and prosperous country despite the challenges confronting the nation.

Ewenla made the call in his Independence Day message commemorating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, where he extended greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora as well as members of the PDP across the country.

He expressed concern over the hardship, insecurity and economic difficulties being experienced by Nigerians, attributing the situation to what he described as poor policy choices of the present All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

The PDP chieftain prayed for divine intervention in the affairs of the country, particularly for relief for families struggling with the rising cost of living, as well as opportunities for youths, entrepreneurs and farmers.

Ewenla also urged Nigerians to participate actively in the forthcoming general elections by obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), remaining engaged in the democratic process and making informed choices at the ballot box.

Addressing members and supporters of the PDP, he called for reflection, reconciliation and unity among party leaders and members at all levels, urging them to put aside personal interests and grievances in the interest of the party and the country.

He said no individual should be allowed to undermine the collective aspirations of millions of Nigerians who look to the PDP for an alternative political direction, stressing the need for members to resolve differences through dialogue and democratic mechanisms.

Ewenla said the PDP must strengthen its internal unity and focus its engagement with Nigerians on critical issues including security, economic opportunities, employment, education, infrastructure, accountability, good governance and national unity.

He described the Independence Day celebration as an opportunity for Nigerians to renew their commitment to hope, unity, patriotism and collective responsibility.

Ewenla prayed for peace in troubled communities, economic opportunities for Nigerians and responsible leadership, while asking Almighty Eledumare to guide the nation’s leaders and bless hardworking Nigerians.

He wished Nigeria continued progress and prosperity, while also expressing solidarity with the PDP and its members across the country.
