Oyo Govt Promotes 102 OYRTMA Officers, Demands Greater Commitment

…As Govt urges officers to improve traffic control and road safety

Oyo Government has charged newly promoted officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, OYRTMA, to justify their elevation through improved performance and greater commitment to effective traffic management.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, gave the charge at the decoration ceremony for the newly promoted officers of the Authority held at the Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan.

Represented by the Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Dr Bode Ladipo, the SSG said the government expects the promotion to translate into visible improvements in traffic management, greater compliance with traffic regulations and a stronger culture of road safety across the state.

Professor Babatunde described the promotion as a reward for meritorious service, adding that it also demonstrates the full integration of OYRTMA into the core civil service structure of Oyo State, with officers now advancing to higher grade levels.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adesagba Adekoya, retired, disclosed that 102 officers were found worthy of promotion in the Authority’s 2024 promotion exercise.

Major Adekoya expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to the welfare and career advancement of OYRTMA personnel, describing the gesture as an indication of the government’s belief in a motivated workforce as a foundation for effective service delivery.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, their families and friends, the General Manager of OYRTMA, Mr Adekola Adeoye, presented an award to the Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya, in recognition of his contributions and impact on the Authority.
