Oyo CP Begins Operational Tour, Strengthens Community Policing Across Area Commands

…Reaffirms commitment to community policing and inter-agency collaboration.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State has commenced an operational tour of all Area Commands as part of efforts to strengthen security and deepen community policing across the state.

The tour, which began on Monday, is aimed at assessing the security situation, enhancing operational effectiveness, and reinforcing collaboration with key stakeholders in crime prevention and public safety.

During the exercise, the 49th Commissioner of Police held meetings with traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of various interest groups to discuss security concerns, review existing safety measures, and identify strategies for improving the protection of lives and property.

The Police Commissioner also met with commanders of sister security agencies to strengthen inter-agency cooperation, improve operational coordination, and sustain the synergy among security organisations in the state.

In addition, he engaged members of local vigilante groups and other community-based security volunteers, commending their contributions to grassroots security and reaffirming the Command’s commitment to working closely with communities to combat crime.

The Command says the operational tour reflects its resolve to build stronger partnerships with residents and other security stakeholders in ensuring a safer and more secure Oyo State.
