Tinubu Vows Justice For Rescued Pupils, Teachers, The Family of Slain Mr. Oyedokun

…Says successful operation has brought relief to affected families and the nation

President Bola Tinubu has expressed delight over the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted from Oriire community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, commending security agencies for securing their release after more than 50 days in captivity.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the efforts of the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force for working tirelessly over the last 56 days to rescue the victims without collateral damage.

The President also lauded the security agencies for arresting eight suspected abductors and neutralising other members of the criminal group responsible for the abduction.

Tinubu expressed regret over the trauma and anguish suffered by the abducted pupils, teachers, their families and the nation since the incident occurred.

Describing the operation as a major breakthrough, the President said the successful rescue had ended weeks of uncertainty and brought relief to the affected families and Nigerians at large.

He assured that his administration would ensure justice for the rescued victims and for the family of Mr. Oyedokun, who was reportedly killed by the abductors during the incident.

President Tinubu also commended the Oyo State Government for its cooperation with the Federal Government throughout the rescue efforts and urged the state authorities to strengthen security around schools.

The President further directed emergency response agencies to work with the Oyo State Government in providing the rescued pupils and teachers with necessary medical care and other relief support.
