Alli Emerges APC Governorship Flagbearer in Oyo
…Urges aggrieved members to close ranks and work together
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate and Adesoji Adedeji as the deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
The unveiling ceremony was held in Ibadan on Thursday and attended by party leaders, stakeholders and members.
Speaking after his emergence, Senator Alli described his victory as a collective achievement for all loyal APC members and supporters who remained committed to the ideals of progressive politics.
He said the mandate represents unity, perseverance, democracy and the determination to build a brighter, safer and more prosperous Oyo State.
The APC governorship candidate also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s National Working Committee, the Oyo State Executive, security agencies and all members who contributed to the successful conduct of the primary election.
He called on other aspirants and aggrieved members to put aside their differences and work together for the party’s success in the 2027 general election.
Earlier, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, urged party members to remain united and support all APC candidates, stressing that unity is essential for the party to reclaim power in the state.
He said being in government would enable members and residents to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Also speaking, the APC Deputy National Auditor, Hon. Olayemi Olugbenga, said the presentation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to the governorship and deputy governorship candidates reflects the party’s readiness for the 2027 elections.
The event was attended by prominent APC leaders, including Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Hosea Agboola, Chief Akin Oke, former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joshua Olagunju, alongside other party executives and candidates.
