Oyo State Govt Extends Curfew in 10 LGAs by 24 Hours

…As Curfew remains in force daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the extension of the curfew imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park by an additional 24 hours.

The extension was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde.

According to the statement, the curfew, which runs daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., will now remain in force until Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The state government had initially imposed the curfew on June 23 for a period of 48 hours as part of efforts to address security concerns in the affected areas.

The local government areas affected by the directive are Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba.

Residents of the affected councils are advised to comply with the directive and cooperate with security agencies as government continues efforts to maintain peace, security and public safety in the affected communities.
