Nigerian Army Schedules Two-Day Shooting Exercise in Ibadan

…As Public urged to stay clear of designated range area from June 3 to 4

The 2 Division, Nigerian Army, has announced plans to conduct its 2026 Range Classification Exercise from Wednesday, June 3 to Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Major General OF Azinta Shooting Range, located within the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan.

In a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, 2 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, residents living around the cantonment and members of the public have been advised to stay away from the designated range area throughout the duration of the exercise.

The Army also urged residents not to panic upon hearing gunshots, noting that the sounds would be part of the scheduled military training activity.

Farmers and hunters operating within the vicinity of the shooting range have been specifically cautioned to avoid the area during the exercise.

The statement added that adequate measures have been put in place to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of the public.

Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma reiterated the Army’s commitment to conducting the exercise in a safe and professional manner while minimizing inconvenience to surrounding communities.
