Oyo College of Nursing Hosts Lagos Counterpart Team for Benchmarking Exercise

The Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Tuesday and Wednesday, hosted the Management Team of the Lagos State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Igando, Lagos, on a benchmarking visit aimed at understudying its administrative structure, academic programmes, and best practices in nursing education.

The visit was designed to foster collaboration, promote knowledge exchange, and encourage the adoption of effective management practices in nursing and midwifery education.

While receiving the delegation, the Provost of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi, explained how the institution has continued to operate smoothly as a premier college of nursing in Nigeria.

She highlighted the various management strategies that have contributed to the college’s success across its activities and further took the visitors through its administrative structure and academic processes.

The Provost also provided detailed insights into the institution’s programmes, explaining how academic activities are effectively coordinated to maintain high standards in nursing and midwifery education.

Earlier in her remarks, the leader of the Lagos State delegation, Mrs. Urema Orji, commended the management team of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, led by the Provost, for its well-structured systems.

She expressed optimism that the visit would enhance service delivery in Lagos State.
She appreciated the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery for exposing the team to diverse managerial approaches in running the institution.

She also commended the Provost and the entire management staff of the College for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the delegation throughout the visit.

During the engagement, both institutions shared insights on training standards, institutional governance, and strategies for improving healthcare education delivery.
