Oyo Veteran Journalists to Elect New Executives May 28

…Forms available as electoral body outlines timetable and guidelines

The League of Veteran Journalists (LVJ), Oyo State Council, has announced plans to elect new executives on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

According to a press release jointly signed by the Chairman of the LVJ Electoral Committee, Shola Akinuli, and the Secretary, Omodele Idris, the election will take place at the LVJ House, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, at 2:00 p.m.

The newly elected executives will be sworn in immediately after the exercise.

The statement disclosed that interested candidates will contest for various positions, including Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Social Secretary, Internal Auditor, and Welfare Officer.

It further stated that nomination forms are currently available for collection at the LVJ House, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.The electoral committee added that the submission of completed nomination forms will close on April 30, 2026, while campaigns are scheduled to commence on May 1 and end on May 21, 2026.
