FCC Aleshinloye Pays Working Visit to Federal Institutions in Oyo State

The Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye(MDII), recently embarked on a working visit to the Federal College of Education (Special),Oyo and Federal Polytechnic Ayede as part of efforts to strengthen compliance with the Federal Character principle across federal institutions.

During his visit to the College, the Provost,Dr Ademola Salami expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner for the visit and commended him for his remarkable antecedents in public service. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to adhering strictly to the directives of the Federal Character Commission.


The Provost also used the opportunity to brief the Commissioner on the recent challenges faced by the institution, particularly the havoc caused by heavy rainfall, which affected parts of the college infrastructure.


In his response, Prince Aleshinloye acknowledged the exemplary leadership and administrative competence of the Provost, noting that such qualities are essential for institutional growth and stability.

He also sympathized with the management and staff over the damage caused by the rain, assuring them of continued support within the framework of federal guidelines.


The Commissioner further elaborated on the mandate of the Federal Character Commission, emphasizing its constitutional role in ensuring fairness, equity, and balanced representation in federal appointments and resource distribution across the country.


At Federal Polytechnic Ayede, the Acting Rector, Dr Azeez Ojo warmly received the Commissioner and expressed gratitude for the visit. He highlighted the notable achievements recorded by the institution since its establishment, as well as its strategic plans for future development.


The Acting Rector reaffirmed the Polytechnic’s compliance with the directives of the Federal Character Commission, stressing the institution’s commitment to maintaining equity and fairness in its operations.


In his remarks, Prince Aleshinloye commended the management for their impressive progress and developmental strides within a short period. He encouraged the institution not to relent in its efforts toward excellence and adherence to federal policies.


He also took time to reiterate the vision and mission of the Federal Character Commission, stressing the importance of full compliance as a means of promoting national unity, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.
