Nigeria: From Bad to Worse A System Crash Under APC | PDP South-West Ex-Officio Amb. Adedipe

Nigeria, once a nation teeming with potential and promise, has regrettably descended into a state of deep socio-economic paralysis. To illustrate the tragic trajectory of our beloved country, let me borrow a simple but powerful analogy: Nigeria is like a computer system a complex machine with the potential to perform efficiently when properly managed. However, from 2015 till now, this system has suffered progressive degradation due to poor leadership decisions.

The moment former President Goodluck Jonathan handed over power to President Muhammadu Buhari, it was as if Buhari pressed “Control + Spoil.” Under his administration, critical sectors—security, the economy, education, infrastructure—began to malfunction. We witnessed mass unemployment, rising insecurity, fuel scarcity, and a crumbling currency. The nation’s operating system was clearly failing, yet no effective upgrades or repairs were implemented.

As if that was not catastrophic enough, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, he pressed “Control + Destroy.” What was once merely spoiled is now on the brink of total collapse. Under Tinubu and the ruling APC, every vestige of stability has been eroded. The economy has plummeted further into crisis, with record inflation and unbearable cost of living. Fuel subsidy removal without effective cushioning measures, unbridled devaluation of the naira, and insecure food supply chains have turned daily survival into a nightmare for the average Nigerian.

The hardship is first grade. Across the country, citizens are groaning under intense economic pressure. What used to be a basic right eating two meals a day has become a privilege only a few can afford. The streets echo with the frustration of a people abandoned by those who promised them renewed hope. Nothing is working.

Let the truth be told: Tinubu and the APC must never return to power. Nigerians are awake. Nigerians are watching. Nigerians are ready to vote them out. No reasonable or right-thinking person should or would ever consider giving another chance to a party that has turned dreams into dust and hope into hunger.

This is not a partisan lament. It is a patriotic outcry. Nigeria deserves better. Our people deserve better. It is time for those at the helm of affairs to retrace their steps, listen to the plight of the masses, and take deliberate, human-centered actions to reverse this dangerous course. Governance must shift from propaganda to performance, from control-and-destroy to restore-and-rebuild.
