A mining company operating in Itasa Community, Architype Industries Nigeria Limited, has denied allegations of illegal exploration and exploitation of the community’s resources without consent.
The Itasa Community, located in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, had accused mining companies of illegal activities and exploiting community members.
Reacting to the allegations, Engr. Adeniran Ajibade, Managing Director of Architype Mining Industries, stated that the company has complied with all agreements reached with the community and possesses the necessary licenses to operate from the government.
He added that the company deposited ₦27 million into the community’s account for execution of developmental projects, but nothing has been done.
Engr. Ajibade denied sponsoring bandits and terrorists, emphasizing that the company is responsible for security in the community.
He noted that the company has a Community Development Agreement (CDA) signed in November 2019 and a new agreement to mine in the community.
The Managing Director reiterated that the company has complied with all agreements and possesses the necessary licenses.
He called on stakeholders to come together with the company’s management to agree on terms and move forward.
