Makinde’s 2027 Presidential Ambition: APC’s Fear of the People Exposed, Says PDP Oyo State
… As PDP fires back at APC’s Criticism of Gov. Makinde
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo State Chapter has reacted to the All Progressives Congress (APC) criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde’s statement that the 2027 general election would be a contest between the APC and the people of Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Michael Ogunsina, Acting Publicity Secretary of PDP Oyo State, the party questioned why the APC is afraid of meeting the people at the polls in 2027.
“A party that has been doing the will of the people would thank Governor Makinde for pairing it with the people,” Ogunsina said.
The PDP also criticized the APC’s reactions to Makinde’s statement, calling it “unnecessary, wrongly directed, and wrongly themed”.
The party noted that Nigerians invested their mandate and hope in the APC in the 2023 elections, but instead of delivering prosperity, the APC has inflicted pain and suffering on the people.
Governor Makinde was also defended against APC’s claims of having a 2027 presidential ambition.
The PDP stated that Makinde is focused on fulfilling his promises to the people of Oyo State and is not afraid to walk the streets of any city, town, or village in his state.
The PDP urged Nigerians to demand answers from the APC on its promise of “looming prosperity” after almost two years in power.
The party advised the APC to reappraise itself, be humble, and seek forgiveness from Nigerians for its “wickedness and maladministration.”
In conclusion, the PDP reiterated Governor Makinde’s statement that the 2027 elections will be a straight contest between the APC and the hungry people of NigeriaNigeria.
