Delta speaker pledges partnership with the media for effective delivery
The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Dennis Guwor has assured that the State Assembly will continue to partner with the media for efficient and effective information delivery.
Guwor stated this when he received journalists covering the state Assembly who paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Thursday in Asaba.
Guwor, who commended the correspondents for their commitment in reporting the activities of the state legislature, advised them to continue to live up to their expectations.
The speaker, who described the media as veritable partners in progress, noted that his administration would not in any way compromise the welfare of workers, particularly those working with him.
On reasons why he was yet to announce his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), he noted that he does not want to make mistakes in his appointments especially in appointing his CPS.
“I would not want a disorderly person as CPS, but one that knows his onions and who can work in synergy with the public and the media,” he said.
In their various remarks, the assembly correspondents, while pledging their commitments towards effective and efficient reportage, pleaded with the speaker to use his good offices in addressing some of their challenges which bothers largely on welfare. NAN
