OYRTMA Recovers Stolen Vehicle Hijacked at Gun Point in Ibadan

Oyo Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has recovered a stolen vehicle that was hijacked at gun point and returned to the owner.

The stolen vehicle which was found beside Adamasingba Stadium Ibadan unattended to.

While addressing newsmen, the General Manager Oyo state road transport management authority, Adeoye Ayoade explained that Oyo state police was informed when the vehicle was recovered inorder to complete their investigation and to ensure the vehicle return to the owner.

He admonished the people of the state to ensure they track down their lost properties to the agency office whenever any of their properties was stolen or loss.

In his statement : “This particular vehicle was recovered by OYRTMA a week ago during our routine patrol.

“We discovered that this vehicle was parked beside Adamasingba Stadium and the way the vehicle was parked gave us suspicion that that something might have been wrong somewhere, the door glass was down, the car key was on the car bonnet.

“We suspect that something was wrong and the vehicle was brought to our office here due the the it obstructing the road.

“After two, three days we discovered that nobody come to claim it, so we now went further to check if we can find any contact in the vehicle and a phone number was found.

“We called the phone number and it happens to be the son of the owner of the vehicle which was confirmed that the vehicle was stolen at gun point over the night a week ago.

“I want to advise the public that in our various property and vehicle let us try as much as possible to have a contact and if don’t have a contact there is no way we can find the vehicle.

“When we discovered that the vehicle was stolen, we went further to ensure that police was informed about the development here in our office.

“We are releasing the vehicle to the police for them to complete their investigation and from the police headquarter the vehicle will be return to the owner.

“For the general public that might have lost some of their property, they can come down to this agency for their vehicles to check first, because we have the record of all the vehicles here, to check the record if they could find any of their property here, he said.
