Effective Road Management: OYRTMA organises training for officers, men on service

Training, re-equipping and re-energizing are the tools that could shape road traffic staff to be more proactive and responsible in discharging their duties for the betterment of the society. 

This formed part of the submission of stakeholders at a sensitization organized by Oyo State Government through the road traffic management authority (OYRTMA) organized for its road traffic officers, held at authority’s headquarters, Soka, area of Ibadan.  

Addressing the newsmen, the chairman, OYRTMA, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi revealed that the capacity building is to ensure that the authority key in into sustainable development of Governor Seyi Makinde’s second tenure. 

Fagbemi who premised that the authority will be more effective, through enforcement of traffic rules in a friendly manner while shaping the society, called for more cooperation from the people of the state. 

Justifying the theme of the training “Sustainable traffic management” the guest lecturer, Former Manager, Lagos state traffic management agency, LASTMA, Olajide Oduyoye, urged government and Stakeholders to take cognizance of traffic laws and empowerment of traffic authorities. 

Adding that for Oyo state to sustain traffic management as well as witness free flow of traffic, certain policies must be put in place and enforced on road users. 

150 management staff, officers and men of the authority across the 33 local government areas in Oyo State benefitted from the two day training.
