The Lagos State Police Command has cautioned against any form of clashes in all parts areas in the state.

National Daily news had reported that suspected loyalists of the Chairman, Park Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo; and the Chairman, Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria, Abiola Azeez, aka Istijabah, had been clashing in parts of the state over the control of transport union parks in the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Monday, said the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, warned that anyone found fomenting trouble anywhere in the state would be promptly apprehended and made to face the law.

He added, “This warning has become imperative following incessant clashes, fracas and malicious damage to property recently experienced in some parts of Lagos State which has been mostly linked to the issues surrounding the management of motor parks.

“The CP met separately with the major contenders – Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo and Azeez Abiola aka Istijaba – in his office. He admonished them to prevail on their teeming followers to act within the confines of the law, and ensured that the security currently being enjoyed in Lagos State remained intact.”

“In line with this stance, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders have been directed to deal decisively with anyone found instigating or causing a breach of peace within their respective areas of responsibility.”

Meanwhile, Alabi called on Lagosians to go about their lawful duties without fear of harassment or intimidation, as all human, material and operational resources had been optimally deployed to ensure their safety and security.
