World Hijab Day 2023 : Makinde Reiterates Commitment To Religious Harmony

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the promotion of religious freedom, harmony and tolerance across the state.
Makinde stressed this in a statement issued in Ibadan, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Taiwo Adisa, to celebrate the 2023 World Hijab Day.
The governor, who congratulated female muslims across Oyo State on this year’s celebration of hijab day, said his administration would not discriminate against any religion in the state.
The statement also indicated that the special Assistant on Islamic Affairs to the governor, Imam Wale Abdulrushid had held a brief ceremony at the secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan to commemorate the day.
The governor said:
“I want to use this medium to appreciate all female muslims in Oyo State on the celebration of Hijab Day, 2023, which comes up every 1st of February. I am happy that our government has not discriminated against any religion since we came on board and I assure you all that we will continue to be fair to all.”
Gov Makinde assured that he will continue to relate, interface and dialogue with all religious leaders, adding that they have not only been supportive of his administration but also prayerful.
He appealed to religious leaders in Oyo State to continue to educate their followers on religious harmony and tolerance.
