Pantami urges state govts to embrace digital economy
Oyo State government and other states of the federation have been encouraged to emulate Imo and Edo States by establishing Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in other to buttress their growth of economy.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, encourages state governments during a courtesy visit to appreciate Oyo State government for hosting and providing required logistics for the ongoing 10th National council on communication and Digital Economy, regular meeting in Ibadan.
Pantami who was received at the Executive Chamber, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan emphasized that digital economy has contributed significantly to the growth of economy, job creation as well as increase the revenue generation of federation than every other sectors.
The Minister who further said that federal government will implement key policies from the memorandum submitted after the 10th General meeting, revealed that Oyo state was selected in order to maintain the tradition of extending sense of belongings to every zones of the country.
In his remark, Oyo state Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Mrs. Olubamwo Adeosun, said that the present administration in Oyo state is key into the federal government policies by transiting from manual to digital administration.
While demanding for federal government cooperation to ensure that the impact of states level is felt, attributed Oyo state outstanding performance at the last edition of the National council on communication and Digital Economy meeting to the policy and framework for ICT the state had put in place from inception of his administration.
