Omituntun-For-Life-Foundation: Makinde’s Wife Empowers over 200 widows in Ibadan

The Wife of Oyo state governor, Engineer Tamunominini Makinde has empowered over two hundred widows in the state to alleviate the economic hardship on them.

The Empowerment program was organized by the Omitun-tun-For Life-Foundation chaired by Mrs Tamunominini Makinde in conjunction with Oyo state government.

Recall that in the past few years Omitun-tun For Life Foundation with Oyo state government had supported hundreds of widows in the state with foodstuffs, household goods empowerment and some cash gift.

Mrs Makinde said that it is imperative for the foundation to give support for the less privilege in the state especially the widows to alleviate their suffering and give succour to the widows during the current economic hardship in the country.

She further encouraged the widows not to lose hope and not to be discourage but continue to take care of themselves and their live ones.

Mrs Makinde noted that “We are here to acknowledge and support the strongest of the women race, those who have had to share the pain that come with losing a spouse.

“We are all aware of the hardship in this economic situation in our country where it is hard for a couple to provide for a family talkless of a widow.

She continue that “Am here on behalf of Omitun-tun For Life Foundation to support the strongest of the woman race here present.

“With the token of rice, gas cylinder, cash gift because am aware of the challenges that you are going through to sustain yourself and your children”.

Mrs Makinde concluded that “I encourage you not to lose hope and not to be discourage instead keep doing your best to take care of yourself and your children” she said.

In her remark the Commissioner for Special duties, Alhaja Faosat Sanni commend the state government and Omitun-tun-For Life-Foundation for the good gesture extended to the vulnerables to ease the suffering of the widows.

She further admonished the beneficiary to keep believing, hope and to take care of their children.

In their separate address, the beneficiaries appreciate Omitun-tun For Life Foundation for the good gesture extended to them to ease their suffering.

The distributed are: Bags of rice, Gas Cylinder and some cash gift for the widow.

The selection of the beneficiary were made across 33 local government in the state and from 31 homes organization .
