Makinde Receives Hundreds of Decampees from APC, ADC Others to PDP
Governor Seyi Makinde has urged both new and old members of the peoples democratic party, PDP to work in unity for the overall resounding success of the party in 2023 general elections.
Governor Makinde made the urge while receiving and unveiling hundreds of decampees from different political parties into the ruling, peoples democratic party in Oyo state.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees from African Democratic Congress, (ADC) first female Senator from the state, Monsurat Sumonu, who pointed at the development policy and programs of Makinde led administration as the reason for their action, pledge their support for the continuity of dividend of democracy in the state beyond 2023.
While speaking on behalf of All Progressive Congress (APC), former secretary coordinator of Seven APC Elders forum in the state, Comrade Bashir Ajibade explained that when all the Elders forum of the party discovered that the APC gubernatorial candidate has hijacked the structure of the party and refuse to allow the Elders settle the disagreement in the party.
Among the decampees and newly unveiled members include former Speaker, Oyo Assembly, Monsurat Sumonu who led large number of African Democratic Congress, ADC members including the State Commissioner, for information, culture and tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun.
Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Joseph Tegbe and some of the Elders from All Progressive Congress APC, Akinade Àlàmú from Alliance for Democracy, AD, Pastor Taiwo Otegbeye and Sheu Akeugbagold among others.
