Why Oyo need to re-elect Makinde for second term-Legal luminary Ayorinde reveals

The 2019 Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate and a legal luminary, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde SAN has called on the people of the State to rally round and vote for governor seyi makinde for his second term bid in office to continue the good work and to entend the dividend of democracy to the nook and cranny of the state.

Ayorinde stated this while addressing Journalists on issues surrounding political terrain in Nigeria today at his residence.

The legal luminary said that since the last three years governor makinde has been sworn-in as the executive governor of the state he has been performing excellently, and the state have decided to give him their vote for his second term in office which is expected.

He noted that “Since I have decided to give him my support for the incumbent governor in the state, I have enjoyed a very good relationship with him, because my expectations from him is good governance that is my expectations from him.

Ayorinde continue “I look at what he has been able to achieved in the last three years, I am no convinced that in Oyo state we should changed at this point.

He added that because of the invention of social media and enacting new electoral act, the state is now experiencing new set of leaders that has ended the days of the so call ‘political giants’, ‘political gladiators’ and the ‘gate keeprs’.

Ayorinde said that “If you look at the trajectory in Oyo state , there is no crps of leadership, before this we had the political giants, the gladiators and the people we called the gate keepers , so at a time it was clearly where does big brother and uncle late governor Ajimobi, where does he stand ?

“Where does my egbon governor Akala, where does he stand?

“What is Alhaji Adedibu what is doing?
Oh do we know the thinking of Aare Arisekola Alao, do we know what is thinking?

“Even though he was not a partisan politician, oh have you been to Oyo to Iku baba yeye find out.

“What about Baba at Ogbomosho? The Era is gone.

“We thank God for their lives and for their contributions but there is a new crop, there is a new wave of governance and that is getting into the psyche of the people in Oyo state.

He declared that”those politics of those days are changing, there is new direction and connection with the people.

The legal luminary continued “Everybody may be because of social media and the way we have the electoral acts now, yes we are having a new set of leaders now but every body is analyzing on their own, there is no politics of ‘Baba Sope’ anymore, we have a new crop of leaders.

Chief Ayorinde urged the good people of Oyo state to support the continuation of governor makinde and not to change the governor for sake of searching for change.

He averred that “If he can do this in three years let us give him the support to continue.

“Given him the support to continue is not even personal, do we want to change the governor for the sake of changing governor?

“Do we want to change governor for the sake sake of ‘Emi lo kan’.

“No, you see at every point in time there must be a tendency that governs a state, he said.
