2023 Ogun governorship candidate is dead

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Ogun State, Professor David Bamgbose, is dead.

He does at the age of 54.

A source close to the family confirmed to CAPITAL POST that the late Bamigbose passed away on Friday at the Sacred Heart Hospital,.Lantoro, Abeokuta after he was taken there for medical attention.

The late politician was a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he defected to the Peoples Redemption Party to contest governorship.

One of his aides, Mr Oduntan Olayemi also confirmed that his principal has passed away.

“He complained of tiredness yesterday and we decided to take him to the hospital,” Olayemi said.

“I was at where I went to get him some prescribed medication that he has passed on.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Mary Bamgbose and six children.
